ComCo Southeast Asia Write to Ignite
The Top 3 Storytellers of ComCo Southeast Asia’s “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” have also won cash donations for their chosen NGO (non-government organization) beneficiaries accredited by ComCo Southeast Asia.

Kurt Comendador of Kuku Notebook from General Santos chose SOS Children’s Villages Philippines while Carla Araniego of Blissful Guro from Malabon took Humanility, Cris Ruffolo, on the other hand, selected World Vision Philippines COVID-19 Emergency Response. Each of the chosen NGOs received PHP 10,000 donation.

Kurt Comendador of Kuku Notebook from General Santos was announced the Grand Champion of the first Write to Ignite Blogging Project. His entry “A Breath of Fresh Air”  chronicles the tumultuous events that happened during the pandemic – finding a new job and the birth of his twin girls. His blog captures that mood of traversing untraveled territory and the discovery of new commitments, new responsibilities, and new life as a father.

Carla Araniego of Blissful Guro from Malabon was awarded 1st runner-up. Her blog “An Open Letter from a Mother to her firstborn” captures experiences and reflections on what life has been like during the pandemic.

Cris Ruffulo of Lady with Backpack from Cebu rounds up the Top 3 storytellers of “Write to Ignite” as the 2nd runner-up. Her entry “Diary of a Village Watcher” chronicles her experience as a Village Tanod and how it helped remind her of the meaning of community!

SOS Children’s Villages is an organization focused on supporting children without parental care and families at risk while Humanility is a non-profit organization that aims to provide sustainable economic and educational development to less privileged communities.

Lastly, World Vision, a humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization aims to work with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and social injustice.

ComCo Southeast Asia’s “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” is a response to the need of our times, as every story comes a long way during this period of crisis. The project aims to pull and collate powerful stories from Philippine blogging communities to inspire the nation to rise and move forward amidst the difficult situation.
