ComCo Southeast Asia’s Regional Integration and Chief Executive Director Ferdinand Bondoy has been elected to this year’s Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the country’s premier organization for communication and public relations professionals. As part of the BOT, he chairs the PR Students Congress and Grand Prix, an inter-school competition that gives students a look at current industry practices, trends, issues, and concerns, and provides a venue for them to align what they have learned in the classroom with the actual work environment.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bondoy also co-leads the CommChat Series, a webinar series that serves as communicators’ survival guide amid the COVID-19 pandemic, spearheaded by the International Association of Business Communications Philippines (IABC Philippines), the premier organization of top business, industrial, and organizational communicators and professionals in the country and across the world. ComCo Southeast Asia was also appointed as the official creative partner of the series that gathers industry-renowned communication professionals to talk about timely and insightful matters especially curated for practitioners and students alike. Consequently, Mr. Bondoy also chairs this year’s Student Quill of the prestigious Philippine Quill Awards, also organized by IABC Philippines, which recognizes and honors exemplary communication research, programs, skills and creative work by student communicators.
Having been an academic scholar of PRSP himself, Mr. Bondoy sees these opportunities as a way of giving back to the industry by honing and training a new generation of communications professionals through the PR Students Conference and Grand Prix of PRSP and the CommChat series and Student Quill Awards of IABC Philippines.
In the same spirit of paying it forward, Mr. Bondoy together with ComCo Southeast Asia’s pool of experts, built the Camp ComCo Mentorship Program, an apprenticeship program designed to transform communication, marketing, and multimedia arts students and fresh graduates into revolutionary practitioners in the industry. With its intensive and comprehensive talent incubation sessions and industry linkage programs, Camp ComCo, which is now on its 14th Cycle, has been recognized for producing high-caliber young communications professionals since 2016.
This year as ComCo Southeast Asia celebrates its fifth anniversary, the Agency looks forward to continue igniting talent and giving back to the industry through its different programs and partnerships.
